The James Webb Space Telescopes has found red dots at the edges of its vision. The race is on to figure out what these are. Are they some of the smallest stars in our own Milky Way? Rogue planets? Or are they the very first galaxies in our Universe?

The James Webb Space Telescope is the most powerful space observatory to date and yet as always, the mysteries pile up at the limits of the sensitivity and instruments. Recently discovered objects such as “Caputauro” and ongoing searches for both the smallest stars and the most distant galaxies leave a lot of questions to be answered. We will review what has been found so far and focus on the star and rogue planets of our Milky Way and see what we can learn from Webb.
