At the Friday, August 21, monthly meeting our guest speaker shall be Mark Lamb presenting “Astro-Photography Overview”, an overview focusing on Deep Sky Objects (DSO), covering basic concepts and principals, target selection/planning, equipment selection, target acquisition, and image processing.

Mark is an early-retiree (retired 2012) whose main hobby has been DSO astrophotography.  He started astrophotography in 2018, after imaging the 2017 total solar eclipse using "normal" camera equipment.  Mark's education background is a BS in Engineering Physics and MBA from Murray State University, and he earned his Chartered Financial Analyst charter.  His professional career started at Texas Instruments, working in strategy and strategic market in the microprocessor division.  Most of his career has been in institutional investing running large derivative hedging programs for very large insurance companies.

Non-members are welcome to attend as well as those with questions about using their telescope. Someone will be willing to help you out. Feel free to bring your scope along.
