The Rauch Planetarium at the University of Louisville has long been a beacon of inspiration and discovery, fostering a love for science, space, and the arts among countless students and community members. Now, we have an incredible opportunity to restore and elevate this cherished institution into a world-class, state-of-the-art facility that serves the university, the local community, and beyond.
Our mission is clear, and our goal is ambitious: to raise $10 million to rebuild the Rauch Planetarium, transforming it into a modern educational and entertainment hub that inspires minds of all ages. With your support, we can make this vision a reality.
The Friends of the Louisville Planetarium seek a business partnership with the University of Louisville and other significant entities to preserve and renew the Rauch Planetarium, reclaiming its place as a world-class, state-of-the-art educational and entertainment venue. This space will serve university faculty, students, and staff across the Commonwealth and surrounding states in fields such as astronomy, space sciences, the arts, humanities, and biomedical sciences.
Our mission includes reopening the planetarium to K–12 schoolchildren throughout the region, supporting STEM education, and reconnecting with the general public as a source of family entertainment and a travel destination that will attract visitors to Louisville, Kentucky.
We’ve already garnered incredible support for this project, but we need your help to cross the finish line. Here’s how you can make a difference:
Spread the Word: Share this blog with your friends, family, colleagues, and anyone else who might be inspired by our mission.
Donate: Every dollar counts toward creating a state-of-the-art facility that will benefit our community for generations.
