The Parklands Hike to the Moon on Nov 3 is canceled.

The UAC Public Observation Night & Halloween Star Party has been rescheduled from Saturday Oct 28th to Sunday Oct 29th 7PM. 

 Member night at the James G. Baker Center For Astronmy, At Curby, Indiana - scheduled for Saturday, October 21, 2017 is cancelled due to forecast cloudy conditions.

Pubic night at the UAC is cancelled due to the wave of rain and clouds heading our way. 100% rain chance in the Louisville area after 5PM.

 As of right now, all indications are that we will have clear skies for Public Night at our dark sky site, at Curby, Indiana.  At any rate, it has been advertised locally,  so we will be in business tomorrow night starting at 8 P.M.

Conditions aren't ideal, and it will be muggy tonight.  But they are good enough to do some observing.  So July 22 member night at Curby is a go.

The weather forecast for tonight's public night at Curby looks iffy. Could be some rain early with high clouds in the evening.  I don't want to call it off as someone invariably shows up regardless.  I will be there in case people show up.  If nothing else, we can watch "The Martian" on the big screen.  Given our luck with the weather lately, who knows?  We might get lucky.  lol

Due to NWS forecast of severe weather in Southern Indiana tomorrow evening, and indications of poor conditions from the Clear Outside web site and other sources, the member night scheduled for May 27, 2017 has been cancelled.

The Oaks Day Mile of Scopes on Friday night is now a NO-GO due to the updated weather forecast showing rain and clouds starting Friday at 5PM.

The weather forecast for Saturday is continuing to look grim for observing/member night at Curby. After consulting with Ken Alderson and Frank Nelson, we decided to cancel Curby member night. Instead, we will meet at the UAC for a cookout Saturday evening starting at 6:00 PM. LAS will supply the burgers and dogs. Bring a dish, or dessert, if you can. If you are a new member and have a scope that you can't figure out, or that has problems, bring it and our old guys will take a look at it.
