Welcome to the May meeting of the LAS! This month our topic is: Everything You Wanted to Know About Astronomy But Were Afraid to Ask.  The format will be a Round Robin Q & A. session

The LAS Urban Astronomy Center is in the Root Cellar Building at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park. The UAC is a 2,000 square foot heated classroom and meeting space plus storage for our telescopes. It features a kitchen, restroom and a four acre observing field in front of the building. A perfect place for you to learn how to use your scope or talk astronomy with the old guys.

Directions to the UAC can be found here.

Come out to the Urban Astronomy Center located in the Root Cellar Building in E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park here in Louisville. Rain or shine. The Moon will be 43% illuminated and 6.7 days old in this lunation.

Members may arrive early for set-up. If the ground is wet, we will set-up behind the building on the asphalt. Scope set-up is weather dependent. Our scopes are unable to penetrate the clouds and heavy moisture such as rain drops are bad for the electronics.
