Public Star Party

  • Sat, October 12, 2024
  • 7:30 PM - 11:00 PM
  • E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park

The Louisville Astronomical Society in partnership with WDRB and Marc Weinberg are hosting a FREE Public Astronomy Night. We will be set up in front of the Rec Building on the lawn. Don't worry about dimming your car lights as you arrive (safety is the most important piece here).

We may get a glimpse of the dazzling Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS right at dusk in the West. We will have opportunities for guests to view Saturn, the Moon, and a host of galaxies and nebula through a whole range of telescopes and binoculars.

Do you have a telescope and need help learning how to use it? Feel free to bring it along (getting there early would be beneficial to setting up).

As always, these events are weather-dependent. At this moment, we are looking at a decent window for observing Saturday night, but this is the Ohio River Valley, and things do change, so PLEASE stay tuned to this page and Facebook for any updates.
