The LAS welcomes anyone interested in astronomy to visit us at out dark site located in Curby, Indiana for our monthly Star Party. Come out to the LAS dark sky site to observe the 2018 Perseid Meteor Shower. We will start gathering around 8 PM for a short program, some evening observing of the planets and look for a few early Perseids before midnight. The usual peak observing time is after midnight but you never know when a meteor will streak across the sky.
Bring out a comfortable lawn chair to observe from(or a blanket), some warm clothing(or blanket) as the temperature drops late at night and some binoculars to scan the sky(no blanket necessary). Of course telescopes are welcome as we wait for the meteors to arrive.

The LAS welcomes one and all at our Star Parties. If you have a scope and are having trouble figuring out how to use it, please feel free to bring it to our public Star Party.

The LAS is an IRC ยง501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. Donations are welcome.

May your scope and skies be clear at the same time. Hope to see you there.
